David W. Oliker is President and Chief Executive Officer of MVP Health Care, a not-for-profit health insurance company headquartered in Schenectady, N.Y. Mr. Oliker has led MVP since the company’s inception in 1982.
Under Mr. Oliker’s leadership, the company now serves more than 700,000 members in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. MVP’s exceptional growth stems from Mr. Oliker’s philosophy that high-quality affordable health care results from innovation and unswerving commitment to customer service.
MVP Health Care offers a wide range of health benefit products including a preferred provider organization (PPO), an exclusive provider organization (EPO), indemnity health insurance products, a health maintenance organization (HMO), consumer-directed products, administrative services for employers who self-insure, Medicare Advantage Plans for individuals and employer, and ancillary services such as flexible spending accounts.
MVP’s HMO plans have earned “excellent” accreditation – the highest level of accreditation – from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Several MVP plans are ranked among American’s Best health Plans by U.S. News and World Report magazine and the NCQA, including Preferred Care Gold, which is the top rated Medicare plan in the nation.
Mr. Oliker, a nationally recognized leader in managed care, serves on the Board of Directors of the America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and is a member of the AHIP Policy Advisory Council. In addition, he is the former Chairman of the New York State Health Plan Association and he is on the Board of the MVMA Foundation, the Taconic IPA and MedAllies. He also serves on the Board of the Health Advancement Collaborative of Central New York.
A strong community leader, Mr. Oliker chairs the Advisory Council of the Graduate College of Union University, serves on the Proctor’s Theatre Board, the Albany College of Pharmacy Advisory Board, and the Excelsior College President's Advisory Council.
Mr. Oliker holds a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University, a master’s degree from The American University, Washington, D.C.; and a post-master’s graduate certificate in health care administration from George Washington University, Washington, D.C.

Karla Austen
Executive Vice President for Networks and Contracting

Ms. Austen is responsible for establishing the strategic direction for the development and maintenance of the company’s provider networks, facility contracts and IPA relationships. She also provides leadership at the corporate level in the development of provider policies and ensures that provider relationships and network management issues are considered.
Ms. Austen has extensive experience in the areas of provider contracting and network management. She led this function at Health Net of the Northeast for more than 10 years prior to joining MVP in April 2010 as Corporate Vice President of Networks and Contracting. Ms. Austen holds a masters degree from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. She also holds a masters degree in accounting from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from Bates College. Prior to joining Health Net, she worked at Humana, Inc. She began her career as a Certified Public Accountant with Ernst and Young in Boston.
Lisa A.
Brubaker
Executive Vice President/Rochester Region and Government
Programs
Ms. Brubaker serves as executive vice president of the Rochester region and government programs for MVP Health Care. Ms. Brubaker has more than 22 years of leadership experience in the Rochester health care market. Prior to joining MVP Health Care in 1999, Ms. Brubaker served as executive director of the Monroe County Medical Society and the Genesee Valley Medical Foundation.
Ms. Brubaker earned her master’s degree in health service administration
from the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health and holds a bachelor’s
degree in journalism from Iowa State University’s College of Arts and
Sciences.
Her community activities include the Board of Directors of the United
Way, Greater Rochester Enterprise, Rochester Business Alliance, George Eastman
House International Museum of Photography and Film, Rochester Museum and Science
Center, the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency, and the YMCA of Greater
Rochester.

Mark Fish
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Fish is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President for Network Management. Mr. Fish has also served Vice President of Finance and as Chief Actuary and has been a member of the senior management team since joining MVP in 1999. Prior to joining MVP, Mr. Fish served as a consulting actuary at the Milwaukee office of Milliman, Inc. He began his career in the health care field at Aetna, Inc., in Hartford, Conn.
Mr. Fish holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Actuarial Science and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a graduate of the Association of Health Insurance Plan’s Executive Leadership Program. He also serves on the board of directors of the American Cancer Society of the Capital Region.

Denise Gonick,
Esq.
Executive Vice President/Chief Legal Officer
Denise V. Gonick is Executive Vice President Administrative Services and Chief Legal Officer of MVP Health Care. She is responsible for strategic planning, legal, corporate and government affairs and compliance. Ms. Gonick also works directly with the CEO to coordinate the Company’s finance, human resources, network, operations and sales and marketing functions. She began her tenure at MVP in 1995 in the legal department.
Prior to joining MVP’s Senior Management Team, Ms. Gonick was a member of Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield’s legal department. Before that, she spent several years practicing public sector labor law, representing the State of New York at the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations and the interests of school principals through the School Administrator’s Association of New York State.
Ms. Gonick has been a Trustee of the Schenectady Museum since 2003 and served in various officer roles including Co-President of the Board. She joined the board of Union Graduate College in 2011. She volunteers for Junior Achievement and has taught elementary school classes for introducing business concepts to school children for six years.
Ms. Gonick is a graduate of Hofstra University with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Studies and earned her JD from Albany Law School. She completed the America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Executive Leadership Program and is a Certified Managed Care Executive (CMCE). In 2006, Ms. Gonick was named one of the Business Review’s 40 Under Forty up and coming business leaders.

Chris Henchey
Executive
Vice President/Chief Operating Officer
Christopher Henchey serves as executive vice president and chief operations officer for MVP Health Care. Formerly, he was vice president for MVP Health Care in New Hampshire.
Prior to joining MVP Health Care, he was co-founder and chief operations officer of Choicelinx Corp., an innovative technology company that supports the health care industry. He also served on the company’s board of directors from its founding in 1999 until its acquisition by CIGNA Health Care in 2005. Previous to his development of Choicelinx, Mr. Henchey served as the COO for the New England Region of Healthsource, Inc. – a CIGNA Health Care company. He also was the COO for Healthsource New Hampshire prior to its acquisition by CIGNA Health Care.
During his tenure at Healthsource, Mr. Henchey directed a large regional operations center, several acquisition-related integration activities, and a full transaction systems conversion. In addition, he managed two Healthsource subsidiary companies servicing the Company’s Workers’ Compensation and Third-Party Administration products. Mr. Henchey earned an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

Dave Henderson
Executive
Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer
David Henderson is executive vice president and chief marketing officer for MVP Health Care. He has more than 20 years of contracting, business development, marketing and sales expertise. Prior to joining the staff of MVP, Mr. Henderson was senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan (CDPHP).
He also has previous experience with GHI and HealthFirst, both in New York City; and with CIGNA-Healthsource-CMCH in Worcester, Mass. He has broad industry experience in all components of health care delivery systems, including IPA, staff, and group model HMOs; physician practices; and hospital systems.
Mr. Henderson earned an MBA from Western New England College and a BS from Westfield (Mass.) State College.
Mr. Henderson is particularly interested in the use of technology to improve care and streamline health insurance operations. He is also proponent of workplace wellness programs.

Allen J. Hinkle
Executive Vice President\Chief Medical Officer
Allen J. Hinkle, M.D. is executive vice president and chief medical officer of MVP Health Care. He is responsible for the oversight of clinical quality improvement, population health management programs, pharmacy programs, and medical management.
During his distinguished career, he has held the position of Chief Medical Officer of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in New Hampshire where he led all health care quality programs, the Chief Medical Director at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Vermont, as well as Chief Medical Officer at Tufts Health plan in Boston. Before entering into the managed care field in 1995, Dr. Hinkle, trained in both pediatrics and anesthesia, practiced in Boston at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.
Dr. Hinkle earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Senior Honors, and went on to earn his doctorate from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York where he graduated a year early.
