How to Order Prescriptions by Mail

If you have prescriptions you fill on a regular basis, your prescription drug benefit includes mail service and the medications you take are available through the Medco Pharmacy, you are eligible to take  advantage of this convenient service.

 

The mail service benefit allows you buy qualified maintenance drugs at a savings to both you and MVP. In addition, you save trips to the pharmacy because prescriptions are delivered right to your home or business. Click here for more information about this convenient service.

 

Ordering Refills from the Medco Pharmacy

When you need to refill a prescription that is on file with the Medco Pharmacy, simply choose one of the following options:

  1. Refill By Phone:
    Call toll-free 1-800-716-3752 . Have your prescription number and credit card information  available.

  2. Refill Online:
    Click here to connect directly to Medco and order your refills over the Internet. Go to Medco Web site. Log in required. Simply follow the directions provided.

  3. Refill By Mail:
    Complete the order form enclosed with your most recent delivery from the Medco Pharmacy. If your health information has changed, update your Health Allergy & Medication Questionnaire (see below for more information). Enclose payment or billing information and send to the Medco Pharmacy in the address provided or to:

Ordering New Prescriptions from the Medco Pharmacy

Follow these five simple steps:

 

1) Determine if the medication you take is available through the Medco Pharmacy. Click here to search our database. If your medication is listed as "Available from the Medco Pharmacy," you may order up to a 90-day supply. If your medication is not in our database, contact the Customer Care Center at the phone number listed on your identification card.

 

2) Get a prescription from your doctor. For your first order, ask your doctor to write two prescriptions, one for up to 30 days to be filled at your local pharmacy and one for up to 90 days to be sent to the Medco Pharmacy.

 

3) Obtain and complete all mail service forms as follows :

  • Health, Allergy & Medication Questionnaire (HMQ)
    This form must be completed the first time you use your mail service benefit and anytime there
    is a change in your health status or medication history. Make sure you list all medications you
    list all medications you take including over-the-counter and herbal products. Information
    provided on this form helps to protect against potential drug interactions that may lead to
    medical complications.

  • the Medco Pharmacy Order Form
    You may download the form here or contact our Customer Care Center at the phone
    number listed on your identification card.

You may also obtain the Medco Pharmacy forms by calling Medco directly at 1-800-716-3752.  TTY Users may call 1-800-759-1089.

 

4) Determine your copayment. Generally, members will receive three months of maintenance medications for a reduced co-payment . If your health plan includes a 50% prescription benefit, you will pay 50% of the discounted mail order price. Payment must be included with all orders. Credit cards are the preferred method of payment however checks and money orders are accepted.

 

5) Mail in your order. After you have completed the the Medco Pharmacy Order Form and the HMQ Form (must be filled out the first time you use the Medco Pharmacy), attach your 90-day prescription(s) and include your co-payment or credit card information and send everything to:

You should receive your prescription(s) within 2-3 weeks.
