MedSCOPE: A Partnership in Health Education
As part of MVP Health Care’s ongoing mission to help improve the health and quality of life for area residents, in 2008 MVP partnered with the Albany Medical Center’s Medical Student Community Outreach for Prevention and Education program and AMC’s emergency department. MedSCOPE offers medical students an opportunity to address the unmet health care needs of Albany’s underserved population.
Since MVP began supporting Medscope more than 1,700 medical students and staff have visited dozens area schools and neighborhoods. MedSCOPE participants provide health care to those in greatest need and teach children about healthy living by bringing educational programs to their schools and neighborhoods.
