Account Alerts - E-mail and Security Question Requirements

Every person who registers to use one of MVP’s Web portals – the portions of our Web site that require you to log in - has a user profile. When your user profile includes an e-mail and a security question & answer, it ensures the security of your account and also enables you to use our improved self-service features.

 

We want to inform you of a change to your online experience. This change affects all users of MVP’s secure Web portals (members, employers, brokers and health care providers).

 

New “Update User Profile” Reminder

  • When you log in, if you do not have an e-mail address or security question & answer on file with MVP you will be asked to update your user profile with this information.
  • Click “Update Profile” and take a moment to enter the missing information.
  • You can choose not to update your user profile by clicking “Cancel.”

Note: You will continue to see this screen every time you log in until you update your user profile, and you will be required to call MVP eSupport for services like retrieving/re-setting your username or password.

 

Improved Forgot Username / Forgot Password Self-Service Features
You can retrieve or re-set your username and password without a phone call to MVP if your online user profile contains both an e-mail address and security question & answer.

 

Forgot Username: Once we have your e-mail address on file, you can click “Forgot Username” and simply enter your e-mail address to have your username sent to you. Employers, brokers and health care providers will receive all usernames associated with the e-mail address entered.

 

Forgot Password: When you click “Forgot Password,” you will be asked to type in your username and answer your security question. A temporary password will be sent to the e-mail address stored in your user profile. You can log in with your temporary password and then set a new one.

 

Want to Update Your User Profile Now?

  • Log in and click the “Change Profile” link just below your name. You can add your e-mail and security question & answer now to enable the Forgot Username / Forgot Password self-service features.
  • What if I don't enter my email address and the security question/answer?
    You can click “Cancel” when you see our reminder screen, and can continue working. To prevent the reminder screen you can use the “Change Profile” link when you are logged in to update your e-mail and /or security question & answer at any time. Once your profile is complete, you will no longer see the reminder screen each time you log in and will have full access to our Forgot Username / Forgot Password self-service features.
